Visual Impact Systems

At we define this as the art of combining and developing solutions for the way people see, read and respond to graphics and words in the landscape. With the development of the Dori Pole in 1984 by Vince Mackel, a fourth component was added to the visual impact equation - movement. We work with the understanding of how people perceive movement, for example, flags, as a graphic component in a landscape environment. We believe the outdoors is primarily a non-reading environment and human/animal instincts play a more dominant role than words.  In 2005 the Dori Pole portion of VMI was sold. We are proud to have Consort Design Group to continue 20+ years of Dori Poles in the display and event industry.

Over 40 years of experience

A trained and practicing Landscape Architect, Mr. Mackel has produced works for large scale university, shopping center, park and recreation facilities and model home developments. It is in these developments, where informational and directional signage are used extensively that visual impact has a key role in a project's success. We pride ourselves in being a full service company pulling from a broad knowledge in scale, design, fabrication and installation which contribute towards making a better project while working with flags and banners.
